Founded in 2020, The Alchemist Den was born at a moment of collective awakening and personal transformation—a time when the world slowed down, and many turned inward in search of truth, peace, and purpose. From humble beginnings, we set out to create more than just a retail experience; we envisioned a sanctuary—a living, breathing altar for ancestral remembrance, spiritual elevation, and embodied community healing.
Located in the heart of historic downtown Austell, Georgia, The Alchemist Den exists at a powerful crossroads—where metaphysical exploration meets herbal apothecary, where reverence for the past meets a vision for the future. What began as a small, lovingly curated space has now evolved into a multi-dimensional, immersive wellness boutique that holds the energy of a much bigger dream: an evolving vision of conscious commerce, cultural connection, environmental stewardship, and community-centered wellness, rooted in sacred commerce, Black and queer liberation, food sovereignty, land stewardship, and cultural legacy. We honor the land we’re on—land once traveled by hunters, healers, and seekers drawn to the healing waters of nearby Lithia Springs.
The railway that runs daily past our storefront is more than a landmark; it’s a metaphor for momentum, direction, and destiny. Austell’s heritage—built on hope, healing, and connection—is the energetic blueprint we’re weaving into every element of our vision.
Meet the Alchemists
Tӑ Millen | Founding Principal | Vision, Creative Direction & Community Development
Tӑ Millen, also known as Jakuta and affectionately as The Alchemist, is a Reiki Master, spiritual advisor, spiritual herbalist, published author, and lifelong student of ancestral wisdom. An entrepreneur, real estate developer, creative strategist, and community builder, their work explores the transformative relationships between people, place, identity, culture, and well-being.
As principal co-founder and co-owner of The Alchemist Den, Tӑ envisioned and cultivated a welcoming space for botanical exploration, spiritual inquiry, conscious living, creative expression, and meaningful human connection. They guide the Den’s vision, creative direction, and continuing evolution, bringing ancestral reverence, curiosity, and a deeply personal commitment to nurturing individuals, families, and communities into the life of the space.
Their approach to alchemy is both philosophical and practical: recognizing the potential within people, places, and circumstances, then cultivating the relationships, environments, and opportunities through which transformation can take shape. Their spiritual practice and ongoing study inform a perspective that honors personal agency, cultural heritage, and the many ways people seek meaning, belonging, and growth.
Tӑ’s commitment to collective well-being also extends into community leadership. As Founder & Executive Director of Fertile Ground Incorporated, they advance work connecting housing stability, food access, education, economic empowerment, and neighborhood connection. In 2026, they helped bring that vision to life as creator and organizer of the inaugural Fae, Fairies, Family & Seahorses festival, presented by Fertile Ground Incorporated and hosted by The Alchemist Den in collaboration with True Alchemy Gardens—a community celebration of imagination, nature, caregiving, and belonging.
A former President of the Austell Business Association and participant in the Local Food & Agriculture Task Force, Tӑ brings experience in civic engagement, community partnerships, and local enterprise development. Their commitment to learning includes completing the Black Emotional and Mental Health Collective’s Black Mental Health & Healing Justice Peer Support Immersion Training in 2026, alongside recognition as a BEAM scholarship recipient.
Beyond the Den, Tӑ serves as Founder & Principal of The Alchemist’s Realty & Design, LLC, where they originate and coordinate development opportunities with landowners, investors, municipalities, nonprofit organizations, builders, and professional advisers to advance viable, culturally responsive, and community-aligned projects. Chasity Millen, spiritually known as Ìyá Ẹ̀funrántí Òṣùnjúadé, is a Priestess of Obatala in the New Afrikan Vodun tradition, Certified Community Midwife, Community Herbalist, Reiki Master Teacher, Spiritual Advisor, Medium, published author, and lifelong student of ancestral wisdom. With more than 30 years of experience working with plants, traditional herbal preparations, and holistic wellness practices, Chasity has dedicated much of her life to supporting healing, spiritual development, and the preservation of traditional knowledge. Her work exists at the intersection of spirit, body, and ancestral care, honoring the wisdom of those who came before us while creating accessible pathways to wellness for future generations. As Co-Founder and Operational Lead of The Alchemist Den, Chasity oversees daily operations, herbal apothecary offerings, spiritual services, educational programming, and the intentional customer experience that has helped establish the Den as a welcoming space for exploration, connection, and transformation. She is the founder of Love & Light Healing, established in 2011, where she offers spiritual guidance, Reiki healing, traditional herbal preparations, birth and postpartum support, and holistic wellness education. Expanding her commitment to preserving and sharing plant wisdom, Chasity founded Herbal Alchemy Academy, home of The Living Apothecary, a six-month educational program rooted in traditional herbal arts, botanical wellness, experiential learning, and community-centered knowledge sharing. Alongside her spouse and creative partner, Ta Millen, she co-founded True Alchemy Gardens and Fertile Ground Incorporated, two nonprofit organizations advancing food sovereignty, environmental stewardship, community wellness, education, and sustainable community development. She also serves as Co-Founder, Program Manager, and Lead Facilitator of the Orí Care Collective, an initiative centering culturally rooted wellness, healing, and collective care. An author, mentor, and cultural practitioner, Chasity's work is guided by a belief that healing extends beyond the individual. It lives in our relationships, our communities, our connection to the Earth, and our responsibility to preserve and pass forward the wisdom entrusted to us. Through The Alchemist Den and her interconnected ventures, she continues to cultivate spaces where ancestral wisdom, spiritual exploration, education, and community care can flourish.
